In May 2014 IBSA released a frequently asked questions document detailing summarised information on the proposed key changes to the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110). This qualification will be upgraded to TAE40114 with this package yet to be endorsed. The TAE40114 key features will include:
- An entry requirement will be added to the qualification, with participants undertaking this needing to demonstrate vocational competency in the area they intend to deliver training in.
- An increase from seven to eight core units, with TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills being added with the aim to enhance skills in adult language, literacy and numeracy.
- An assessment requirement will be added to the unit TAEDEL401A Plan and organise group-based delivery with participants needing to deliver to a minimum of eight participants in each group.
- The requirement that those assessing the core units in the TAE40114 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment must have the TAE50114 Diploma of Vocational Education or equivalent.
