On Wednesday, 5th August Sheevaun and Judy attended the launch of Apprenticeship Support Australia, held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Hay Street. The newly branded Apprenticeship Support Network service provider will be managing apprentice and trainee contracts, incentive payments and mentoring services and have partnered with interstate providers to provide a national service. The emphasis is on increasing completion rates for traineeships and apprenticeships and this will be through ongoing mentoring and support for both the employer and trainee. Deirdre Willmott, CEO of CCI welcomed guests and Nathan Bentley, General Manager, gave an overview of the services which ASA will be offering as well as introducing “Skills Road”, a website designed specifically for recruitment in the apprenticeship/traineeship field. It provided a great chance to network while enjoying WA food and wines.
